Judith is a widow who saved her native town from assirian invasion. This brave woman did everything she could to save her people, her belief.After assirian invaders had invaded the town, she put on her beautiful clothes and went to their camp. Her beauty attracted general Allafern’s attention.
She cut off his head and carried him in her town. She had chosen duty instead of love to save everything she loved. She couldn’t be happy if her town would be in ruins. But the author of the play was mocking when he wrote the play – she killed the man she loved to save the town, people, her belief, her God! What is love?
